AKRON
Stanford L. Regal passed away peacefully in his home cared for by his loving family on November 22nd, 2021. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 20th, 1929 to the late Sol and Elsie Regal.
He was so lucky to meet the love of his life Marilyn at the JCC in Akron. A year later they were married and moved to Oil City, Pa in 1954 where he owned Park Shoes. In 1972 they added a second location and moved to Meadville, Pa. They moved back to Akron in 1985 and he worked at Malco Products, Inc until his retirement at age 80. In 2014 he received the "Outstanding Volunteer of the Year" award from the Akron Public Schools for reading and teaching kids to read for over ten years.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marilyn Regal. Children Sheri Regal (Stuart) Glauberman, Ken (Heidi) Regal, Brett (Dr.Susie) Regal, Brother; Edwin(Faye) Regal and Brother-in-law Bill (Sharon) Sobel
Grandchildren; Seth (Nora) Glauberman, Lauren Osina, Ben (Laurie) Regal, Jennie (Fred) Kilmer, Sara (Dr. Michael) Humphrey, David Regal, Michael Glauberman & Adam (Kelly) Glauberman. Great-Grandchildren; Ayva, Hannah, Ella, Uhland, Elliott, Jacob & Victoria. Nieces & Nephews Norman (Laurie) Regal, Susan (Eric) Kent, Geri Ann (Mark) Druyos.
Rabbi Josh Brown will conduct the funeral service at Temple Israel, 91 Springside Dr. in Fairlawn, Wednesday November 24th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Temple Israel and the Shaw Jewish Community Center or Portage Path Behavioral Health.
