Gloria J. Katz, 92, passed away March 21, 2002. She was born May 18, 1929 in Akon, Ohio to the late Harry and Ruth Jaffe.
Preceded in death by her husband Carl and special friend Dan Cavanaugh and sister Morlene Sanford, she is survived by sons Steve (Karyn) Katz and Robert Katz; grandchildren Elizabeth (Aaron) Kutz and Eric (Shainy) Katz; great-grandchildren Pia, Noah, Aryeh Leib and Jack; nephews Dick and Bob Sanford and niece Ruth Bank and aunt Pat Mintz.
Mrs. Katz retired from Akron Public Schools after more than 30 years of dedication to her students. She loved to read, knit and play games with her friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 11 AM at Revere Road Synagogue, 646 N. Revere Road in Akron, where the family will be observing Shiva Wednesday and Thursday evening from 7 to 9 PM, with the daily Minyan at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to your favorite charity.
