Daniel Katz Obituary
Daniel Seth Katz was born on December 17, 1975, at Akron General Medical Center. He died peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at The Raintree in Mansfield, OH following four months of health complications. He resided at The Raintree for over 35 years and attended the workshop at Richland Newhope Industries.
Dani worked every day of his 48 years to accomplish difficult tasks with great enthusiasm and determination. The Raintree & RNI staff enriched his life with opportunities to grow to his fullest potential. He loved life and enjoyed every minute of every day. Dani had a smile that would light up a room, and an infectious laugh that no one could resist catching!
He was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Michael; grandparents, Isadore “Irv” & Evelyn Katz, and Joseph S. & Eva Palazzo; aunt, Margaret Schweda; uncles, Jeffrey Katz and Joseph P. Palazzo. He is survived by his parents, Alan & Sally Katz; sister and brother-in-law, Erin Katz Ford Kevin Ford; nephew & nieces, Max, Mary & Maggie Ford; aunt, Sandra Katz Colker; and many cousins. He also leaves his “extended family” and caregivers at The Raintree who provided excellent care and love through the years and who were especially attentive the past 4 months. The family extends their gratitude to Ohio Health Palliative Care and Hospice for their compassionate care.
Funeral service will be Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 11am, at Beth El Congregation, 750 White Pond Dr., Akron. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 W. Market St., Fairlawn. Shiva will be at the home of Erin Katz & Kevin Ford immediately following interment until 3:30pm.
Additional Shiva times: Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday evenings from 5:30-8pm at the home of Erin & Kevin.
Shiva Minyan will be at 7pm each evening.
