Barbara Schleider Obituary
Barbara Faye Schleider, 81, passed away peacefully January 4, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of 60 years to the late Samuel Al Schleider, Barbara will be incredibly missed by her children: Natalie, Scott (Marla) and Marcy (Jay); grandchildren: Andrew, Corey and Josh; her sister Judy Snyder and her array of furry grandchildren.
Barbara was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 19, 1940. She attended The University of Pittsburgh and after went on to have a very successful and lengthy career as a realtor in Akron, Ohio while raising her children with Al. She was one of the first real estate agents with Smythe Cramer and helped so many families, including her own, find their perfect home. As much as she loved having a career, it was being a mom that was paramount in her life.
Spending time with her family whether it was over a home cooked meal or at The Courtyard in Brecksville, shopping at her favorite local boutiques, watching her beloved Steelers, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, going to Blossom Music Center or playing with the dogs; these are the memories that we will hold onto and there are just too many funny stories to share.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn. To attend virtually, please email adam@gordonmemorial.com for a Zoom link to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to PAWS Ohio or One of a Kind Pets as she adored her poodles and golden retrievers. The family also encourages you to support your local boutiques and buy a “little sweater” to keep you warm in Barb’s honor.
